Review of True Virtue by Jax Hunter

True Virtue (True Heroes Military Romance #4)True Virtue by Jax Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

True Virtue by Jax Hunter
5 Stars ( I really do wish that I could give her more)

I received this book as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review

Ms. Hunter has a new and original perspective on the military romance genre. This is Air Force Pararescue Jumpers also referred to in her books as PJ's and no it's not about pilots- okay that's the next book, but seriously I am delighted to have come across her books and I find myself recommending her books to others who are looking for something a little different. Her books might not have the steamy hot sex scenes that some books have, but that should not be a deterrent. The emotional content in the True Heroes series grows higher with each book I've read. The chemistry between the characters practically leaps off of the page as you read their conversations. This author's attention to detail helps to paint the scenes of Yosemite in your head. I've actually been to Yosemite and its every bit as beautiful as Ms. Hunter depicts in her writing.

We start this book with Daniel Fraser, who is dealing with his grief from the loss his wife to cancer months earlier. It was heartbreaking to see him withdraw from everything and everyone and I was hoping that he would get to find love again. Daniel is in charge of SAR (Search and Rescue) and he's an ex Navy SEAL.

Sophie Riene is a French rock climber and is in Merced California to photograph scenic parts of Yosemite for a picture book. Both Sophie and Daniel are making their way through their own kinds of heartache when they meet.

What grows between them is slow and precious. It takes Daniel the longest time to accept his feeling for Sophie but when he does, he's all in. Sophie, oh how I loved her character, she's so patient with Daniel. Then she suffers a great loss and there's a tragedy that effects her and Daniel. It's Ms. Hunters writing of the tragic scene, and the aftermath that had tears streaming down my face as I read and re-read it not believing what was before my eyes. And our Daniel, trust me, we all want to be loved in the way that he loves his Sophie. The ending was perfect and it made my heart soar! This is one of those stories that stats with two lost people not knowing that they were lost until they found one another. Then out of tragedy, has our hero and heroine grow stronger seperatly and together. Each has to come to their own terms with what has happened.

Buy this book, buy the whole series! You'll find it a new and interesting take on military romance.

Buy it. Read it. Review it. Share it with your Friends.
