review of It's a Wrap: Sewing Fabric Purses, Baskets and Bowls by Susan Breier

It's a Wrap: Sewing Fabric Purses, Baskets, and BowlsIt's a Wrap: Sewing Fabric Purses, Baskets, and Bowls by Susan Breier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hands down this has to be about the best book out there for wrap bowls. While I do have several other patterns for wrap baskets written by other authors/pattern design companies, THIS BOOK by Susan Brier gives a clear and concise set of instructions for EVERY project, with details that EVERYONE will understand, not just those that are experienced in the art of Fabric Crafting.

I highly recommend "reading" this book BEFORE you run off and buy supplies, there are a list of do's and don't's that you need to adhere to. Buy the book in paper format versus e-book because you will refer to it often.

While this isn't a wholly bad book, it does leave me wondering about the editor. The poorly executed/written instructions make this a book more for the Very Experienced Fabric Crafting Person versus a novice (who by the way are more apt to buy books like these). I highly recommend putting photo's of the various steps to these projects to aid in assisting those that need "a little extra help" understanding any particular technique.

In essence...There is nothing unique to this book

And yes, I'm returning this book for a refund.

If you do buy this book, it's not one that you want to buy in e-book format due to the templates in the back of the book.

It's not often that I write up a One Star review of something but today I feel that I must in order to save others from wasting their hard earned dollars on an instruction book that I deem worthless! I feel as if I were duped with the purchase of this book. There is NOTHING new in the book, The patterns offered are very dated and look as it they are from the 1970's not to mention the extremely vague instructions. There are ZERO pictures of the kinds of projects that you can make- which is the dupe part because if you saw them you would run away screaming!
While it may look pretty and modern on the outside, it's filled with dated projects that have extremely Vague instructions and only ONE photo of the project that leave this book virtually useless! I'm returning it for a refund! Don't waste your money!
