Flowers on the Wall by Mary J Williams

Flowers On The Wall (Hart Of Rock And Roll Book 1)Flowers On The Wall by Mary J. Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I first read Ms. Williams' football themed romance series and was brought into a new world. Now I've read this and I'm amazed that the feelings her writings bring to the Rock World genre of contemporary romance. You feel the struggles and the love that come from her characters in a way that makes you feel like part of the story. Ryder and Quinn will forever be in my Heart. This is the emotionally gripping kinds of romance that I love to read, ones that make you gasp, cry and fall in love with the characters. One that grabs you from the first pages and keeps you readying until you're blurry eyed!
Buy it, read it, review it, share it with your friends!
I received this as a gift and this is my personal opionion of the book.

Review of Hearts of Jade by Mary Crawford

Hearts of JadeHearts of Jade by Mary Crawford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Author Mary Crawford has a manner in writing books that teach us a little something about ourselves and human nature much as another well known author (thankfully she doesn't rip our hearts into shreds at the end of her books). I for one am glad to have the opportunity to read this book, even though I had to stop a few times because of the subject matter- Suicide. It cant be easy to write about this topic and it's even more difficult if you're the one left behind wondering what you could have done (if anything) to prevent your friend or family member from taking their own life. We're all left behind with our own doubts and fears for the future. I'll be honest, I put this book down and picked it up a few times because I too have lost people that I cared about to suicide.

Read it and you too will fall in love with this authors very personal style of writing.

Review of The Complete Love Bug Series by Jaycee Ford

The Complete Love Bug SeriesThe Complete Love Bug Series by Jaycee Ford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Watching Fireflies-
I stumbled across this book on Amazon and fell in love with the writing style that the author put on these characters, the two points of view was interesting and refreshing.

Jordan Hawthorne was escaping an abusive relationship and starting over in a new town. Tom McCloud is a good ole boy and does right by his family. When Tom is sent to do repair a sink in a guests bathroom at his aunts request, he never thought that he'd seen a more lovely sight than Jordan asleep in the bathtub. It was in that moment that his heart had found it's home.

Now it's time for him to convince Jordan that he's nothing like her ex. There is some true heart pounding action in this book, cowboys that are not afraid to let their tears of grief and sadness not be seen and a whole lot of love throughout these pages!

Dragonfly Awakening-
The Love Bug series is one told from different points of view. This is the story of Ellie and Paul. We learn what really happened with Lance and Ellie and why Lance broke up with Ellie. We fast forward 10 years and a cold winters night Ellie is back in town and she meets up with Paul, they have deep rooted feelings for one another. One thing leads to another and Ellie decides to take a chance and moves back to her old hometown to be near Paul and to start her business. Ellie is a successful fashion designer and she buys a store and starts a boutique. But the secrets are eating at Ellie, she wonders why Paul isn't wanting to take the relationship public. The one thing holding Paul back to making their relationship public is His best friend Lance, Ellie's ex. Ellie can't take the secrets and sneaking around and through miscommunication and hurt feelings our lovers lose their way for a bit. I laughed, I cried and my heart skipped a beat! Read this second installment of the Love Bug series, you'll be glad that you did!

Hornets Nest-

Never has a friend been warned of the one guy you should never get involved with- that's what Katherine is dealing with. Lance with his mesmerizing green eyes and his charm the pants off of you smile has found "the one" with Katherine, but she's been forewarned about his bad boy ways and keeps him at arms length.
They share a moment and a passionate kiss after her friend Jordan has made it through her ordeal and Katherine high tails it back to the city and stays a safe distance from Lance. It's not until the wedding of her best friend several months later does Katherine venture back into Lance's view. With her realization that her friends are all married and she's not, Katherine throws herself a little pity party. Lance sees her and rescues her from herself. They share a wonderful passionate filled night and in the morning he leaves, but not without asking her not to go. Over a yer later they are ruined until different circumstances. Has too much time passed for the one time lovers to reunite? There are deep secrets and broken hearts to over come. But Lance is determined to get his girl and he is going to try his hardest to win back her heart!

I loved Lance and his determination. We all need a guy like Lance to love us the way he loves Katherine.

Mosquito Chase-

Story told in both points of view
I want to state that I finished this book at 4 am today and I have a serious book hangover thanks to Jaycee Ford! I'm glad that Angela Butler got her HEA and that it was with Caleb Harris makes it that much sweeter! Jaycee writes each character with such depth that you feel as if you're right there in the story. You feel their sadness, they're joy and their confusion as they try to make sense of their feelings for one another and the situation at hand.

I've read all of the other stories in the Love Bug series and I've enjoyed every one of them.

This story starts out hard and fast, you're immediately thrown into the story. Your heart aches at all of the sadness in Angela's past and for what she is currently going through. Caleb is a complex creature, he tries to wash away his heartache and pain of betrayal of his ex and his best friend through engaging in meaningless sex. But when Angela Butler comes knocking on his front door in need of his help, he can't turn her way. They start out not liking one another, gradually they comes to terms and it's when Angie has a break down that Caleb realizes that his heart is in danger from this helpless creature.
Angela is my hero in so many ways. She comes back from such pain and heartache and faces/confronts her fears and she does it more than once! She has guts and she tells it like it is. Rumors about her past are cleared up and the real truth come to be known. She's not the person that others have made her out to be.
Read this story and you'll see why this one is my favorite book in the Love Bug series. I don't want to go into details as I ant you to discover the story line yourself. Just be prepared for heart pumping drama and action and one heck of a Book Hangover!

Plagerism

I was chatting with a close friend the other day and I happened to mention that we've not had a plagiarism scandal in a while...and now we do.
Here's the thing, why do it? You ARE going to get caught, it's just a matter of time. You might think that there are soooo many readers out there that no one is going to notice- that's your second mistake, your first once was copying and pasting your name on a body of work that belongs to someone else. You've not only damaged your reputation but in all likelihood your future career as an author. So even if you do happen to write a novel of your own volition, chances are people will not want to take a chance on reading it, why? Simply stated, it's because of your prior history of stealing the works of others. Plagiarism also hurts the writing community, the entire writing community. Its created fear, anger, resentment and most of all distrust. It has now reinforced the notion that fledgling authors are not to be trusted. Plagiarism is making seasoned authors have second thoughts or all together making them feel reluctant to take new authors on and mentor them. All of this hurts us readers. If you as a reader comes across a book that looks like plagiarism, it's your social obligation to stand up and say something. Authors work hard at their craft and for their hard work to be stolen with the click of a mouse, well it's not acceptable! The simple truth is that it's Stealing! It's stealing the income of another individual. We all know how we wouldn't like it if we had someone trying to steal or income, so why would you support someone who is stealing the money from an author? Pirating sites do this too! Please think about where you buy your e-books from! Buy only from reputable sites.

Review of Wrecked by AJ Harmon

WreckedWrecked by A.J. Harmon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I once compared this indie authors writing to that of Nicolas Sparks. I'm doing it again. Ms Harmon's story has me in awe of not just the storyline but of the imagination of the story teller. The emotional depth and obvious attention details within this book are what had me so engrossed from the first chapter. It is brilliantly written and you can't help but to fall in love with Ethan as he falls in love with Bess (our main characters) we meet a few more characters and we also meet Andrew and learn his story and we fall in love with him as well. There is a paranormal element along with the discovery of some key things in this book just ramp up my admiration for this author.
I've used up a good many tissues -the good kind, 3 ply with lotion. I stayed up late engrossed in this book, went to bed only to slept briefly as I felt compelled to finish the book. It's 2:30 and here I am typing up my review. I don't know if it's possible, but Ms Harmon has left me with 2 book boyfriends from one book!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Reading books such as this makes me as a reader, a reviewer, and a book blogger even more hopeful that everyone will have their happily ever after.

EXCERPT

“Blondie, wake up for a second,” Julian whispered in her ear.
Stephanie groaned and shrugged away from his touch. “Could you maybe put your erection away?”
He peeked over to see her eyes still closed and her cheek rested on the back of her hand. Julian shook her once again. “You’re naked. Are you always this distracting in the morning? I’d like to wake up just once without a hard-on.”
“Julian, I’m going to give you something for your ego.” She pulled the blanket higher, covering her perfect breasts.
Her breasts are magic.
Perfect rack.
Ducking down, he pressed his lips against the smoothness of her neck. “My ego is ready.”
“I bet it is.” Stephanie took a deep breath. “You are annoyingly good at sex. Go to work and let me somehow deal with the fact that I like having sex with you. Okay?”
Julian had smiled against her skin before he quickly sat up. “Blondie, Blondie, Blondie!” he honeyed while he shook her with more force.
Stephanie groaned before she finally sat up and rubbed her eyes. Pissed off Stephanie Appleton was a sight. So was just woken and admitted he was a satisfying lover Stephanie Appleton. She was an all-round vision. “WHAT?
Julian formed a fist and held it towards her, waiting. She glanced down at it and frowned. Her adorable frown distracted him from the fact that her breasts greeted him this morning.
“Put it there.” He lifted his fist a little higher.
Stephanie’s eyebrows furrowed. “You want me to bump fists with you? Why?”
The smirk on his face had caused her to roll his eyes at him. “You said I’m good at sex. I like to believe I’m awesome at it, but we’ll save that kind of correction for later. You said you also like having sex with me. My ego loves that very much. And for your ego, I’m gonna tell ya that you are ridiculously good in bed. We have to bump fists for great teamwork. I come. You come. We come. What a lovely partnership we have going.”
“Oh, my God! I am never having sex with you again!”
He tilted his chin up at her and then cocked a brow. “What an empty threat. Seriously, put it there. Let’s celebrate what an awesome pair we are.”
Stephanie playfully pushed at his shoulder and got off the bed. “You’re an idiot. I am not bumping fists with you for that. I’m going to find a way to dent that damn ego of yours. You’re going to slip up sometime, Moors. You can’t be that great in bed all the time.”
